Performing Arts students take to the stage with Jack Whitehall!

Our Level 2 and 3 Performing Arts students had the opportunity to perform on stage with award-winning comedian Jack Whitehall for the finale of his shows at the BIC.

The College were approached by Whitehall’s manager to perform in the finale of the comedian’s sell-out show in December and January. Due to the demand an extra day was added to the tour, which included a matinee and evening show, and our students were invited to perform in these shows too.

The performances were an incredible opportunity for our students to see what a career as a performer could be like. Working with professional choreographers and dancers, as well as performing in front of a live audience, the students gained real industry experience.

Lauren Farnham, Level 3 Dance student at the College, said: “Performing at the BIC with Jack Whitehall was such an amazing experience, it gave me an idea of what it’s like to be a professional performer and how many different roles can be under the job title of a dancer. It helped me with getting a better idea of what it would be like to have a professional career as a dancer.”

Our students were accompanied by Holly Burridge, Dance Lecturer at the College, she said about the performances: “It was an amazing opportunity for our students to experience what is involved within a professional production. From rehearsing with a professional choreographer and dancers, to waiting around backstage to be fitted for their costumes. Performing in front of a sold-out audience both nights, is an incredible feeling and they all did a fantastic job!”
