To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, The Bournemouth & Poole College is launching more than 100 apprenticeship vacancies this month.
The largest provider of further education and apprenticeships in the area has come together once again with a vast range of local businesses to offer people the opportunity to pursue their chosen career, by enrolling onto an apprenticeship.
The Bournemouth & Poole College, which works in conjunction with more than 2,000 local businesses to provide apprenticeships, has added South West Trains to its extensive portfolio of providers. South West Trains is offering work experience placements as well as recruiting for electronic engineer apprentices.
In addition the RNLI, which has a long-standing relationship with The College, is introducing three new marketing apprenticeship vacancies and an IT apprenticeship for the first time. The charity also continues to offer both marine and electrical engineer apprenticeships.
The College also strengthens its already existing relationships with local businesses by continuing to work with Cobham plc, Superior, NHS and local authorities across Dorset.
Katie Bodman, head of training academy at Superior, commented: “We value our relationship with The College, it has supported the development of our business from an engineering and material science point of view. The training which is provided by The College is incomparable.
‘‘The reason why we choose to recruit apprentices is because of their natural passion and enthusiasm. Apprentices are like a blank canvas when they come into a business, they are eager to learn and compliment the company with their skills.’’
Sunseeker more recently has announced that its prestigious apprenticeship programme has 40 vacancies available and is currently accepting applications before the deadline on Friday April 7. The apprenticeships on offer cover specialist skills such as carpentry, marine engineering and marine electrical engineering.
Matt Butcher, sales and customer account manager from The Bournemouth & Poole College, said: ‘‘Here at The College we are thrilled with the variety of sectors our apprenticeships continue to cover in the local area. We feel like our current vacancies reflect the current trends that are appearing across the county. The digital sector is thriving at the minute and businesses such as 3 Sided Cube Design are looking for project support digital apprentices to join its team.
‘‘Those who are interested in enrolling onto an apprenticeship are encouraged to do so before the Easter deadline in the next couple of months.’’
