A unique overnight bake-off by Hospitality and Catering students at The Bournemouth & Poole College has raised over £340 for Sport Relief 2014.
Level 3 students at the Lansdowne Campus decided to burn the midnight oil and rustle up macaroons, special “duffins” a tasty mix of doughnut and muffin, cheese and onion loaves, cronuts (half croissant-half doughnut); jammie dodgers, iced gems, hot-cross buns and home-made croissants.
They went on sale at the College first thing in the morning and were snapped-up quickly by customers, students and staff - not surprising since they were all so freshly baked.
The money raised will go to Sport Relief which brings the entire nation together to get active, have fun and raise life-changing donations. Sport relief officially begins on back from Friday March 21st to Sunday 23rd March.
Tracy Butler, Team Leader at The School of Hospitality and Food, at the College said: “There was a great atmosphere and some delicious smells in the air! It was a wonderful effort by all concerned, we are very proud of the students and staff involved to make this event a success.”
