Lee Stafford wows students with his hair recipes

Lee Stafford was on hand to demonstrate his innovative hair recipes as students from local schools attended for a twisted tong demonstration before he spent time with apprentices in the college’s dedicated hair salons.

Lee, a celebrity hairdresser has gained national recognition for TV appearances, as well his own bright pink haircare product range sold in Boots.

During the morning session, 42 students from local schools attended the college’s Lansdowne site to learn about careers in hairdressing, see Lee’s twisted tong demonstration and to take part in a Q&A. Lee was able to draw on his own experiences to inspire the students to consider a career in hairdressing after they have finished school.

Lee’s recipes are ‘Michelin standard’ and designed to reflect some of the most cutting-edge styles seen in salons across the UK. When students complete their course as part of the Lee Stafford Hair Academy at the college, they are equipped with the very best skills and knowledge to land their dream job.

After inspiring the next generation of potential hair stylists, Lee spent the afternoon working with apprentices in the college’s dedicated hair training salons. Here students are already learning to the Lee Stafford ‘Michelin standard’ and Lee was able to give some pointers, hints and tips for perfecting their skills.

Suzy Parkinson, Learning Manager for Hair said “it’s been fantastic to have Lee at the college sharing his knowledge with the students and apprentices. Hairdressing is a growing industry and therefore our students’ training is key to ensuring we’re able to meet that demand in the future.

Their training as part of the Lee Stafford Hair Academy will ensure that when they leave us they have the right skills to succeed in this creative industry.
