Learn about Degree Level courses at Bournemouth & Poole College Open Day

Bournemouth & Poole College is hosting an open day for people to learn about the degree level courses on offer.

The event takes place on Thursday, June 13, from 4pm to 8pm at both sites in Bournemouth and North Road, Poole. It also aims to inspire people of all ages to find out more about the range of apprenticeships, full-time, part-time and degree-level courses available at Bournemouth & Poole College. People will be able to take a tour of the facilities, learn about the award-winning Students’ Union, meet the course tutors and learn how to turn a passion into a career.

There are a range of courses which enable students to gain a degree at the Bournemouth & Poole College, while saving up to £3,000 compared to university fees. All of the College’s degree courses are available in a range of subjects including business, CGI, computing, engineering and performing arts. Each course is validated by leading universities and developed in partnership with businesses to ensure that students leave with the most up-to-date, industry-standard skills.

Olly Curtis studied the foundation computing degree at Bournemouth & Poole College and now works as an intern developer at Lush. He said: “The College was the perfect starting point on my university journey, as I was returning to education after a sizable break and therefore knew that I would benefit from being in a smaller class. After passing the foundation computing degree with a distinction, I decided to complete the top-up degree at Bournemouth University. The work ethic and drive instilled in me at the College gave me all the tools needed to get the most out of my final year.”

Chloe Brown studied the BA (Hons) Top Up in Performing Arts to take her foundation degree to a full bachelor’s degree. She is now part of a theatre show in London. She said: “The course has given me so much through learning about the industry and the different paths that I can take. The College has great resources including a dedicated library, scripts and sheet music, and a theatre with rehearsal spaces. The Jellicoe Theatre tutors are always compassionate and approachable, and they have been the most supportive people within my academic life. My tutors were always there to lend a hand and to give me confidence when I need it.”

Places can be booked in advance for the open event. For more information about the event and the range of courses available at Bournemouth & Poole College, go to thecollege.co.uk or call 01202 205205.
