Higher Education students in Business and Marketing were given the opportunity to meet some inspirational figures in the industry. John Johnston, International Operational Director and Natasha Zarach, Global Marketing Manager, from Elga Water Management, took time out of their busy schedules to give presentations to the students and give them a real understanding of a direction that their future careers could take. Elga, a subsidiary of Global water purifier Veolia is based in China, the USA and the UK.
During his presentation Mr Johnston offered valuable insight into his work in sustainability for Elga, the business model they use and how he helped create the company’s operations in China. His talk was followed by a presentation by Ms Zarach, who explained their marketing strategies, how they connect with relevant target markets, and identified the latest trends in the industry. Elga regularly supports the college by presenting awards, giving presentations and funding college equipment and projects.
Higher Education courses at the college are centered around connecting with the business world. Courses such as Foundation Degrees and Access to Higher Education incorporate real industry experience, and presentations such as Elga’s allow students to gain valuable knowledge and business contacts.
The college’s reputation in teaching Business and Marketing has never been higher. Former college student David Hampton was recently awarded the Bournemouth University student of the year.
