As part of the construction industry’s nationwide ‘Open Doors’ week, eleven students from a Level 2 Bricklaying course at Bournemouth and Poole College had the opportunity to visit Kier’s construction site, where they are currently clearing the grounds in preparation for the construction of the college’s new teaching block.

On Monday, 18th March, students attended the site between 1-2 pm ahead of the ‘groundbreaking ceremony’ that followed two days later (20th March) which saw dignitaries mark the start of work on the college’s new multimillion pound building.

Professional Services Development Day

On Tuesday, 19th March Bournemouth and Poole College held its yearly ‘Professional Services Development Day’. At the same time, lecturing staff went offsite; ‘back-to-the-floor’ and into employers and providers to return to the workforce. Staff attending the Professional Services Development Day could book on to a range of different talks and activities – from ‘The Art of Being Brilliant’ by Martin Burder.

Bournemouth & Poole College is holding its Progression Fayre on Thursday, 21st March from 3-5 pm across both Bournemouth and Poole campuses.

The Progression Fayre provides current students with further support on their next steps for both curriculum and apprenticeships. All curriculum areas will be present, with lecturers on hand for help and guidance.
