College’s Foundation Degree student goes on to win two university awards

Former Bournemouth and Poole College Foundation Degree student David Hampton has achieved a double triumph following college while studying at Bournemouth University.

He has been awarded a wealth of academic awards to put alongside his first class honours degree in Marketing Communications from BU.

David recently became the second college foundation graduate to win the University’s Rosemary Pope Award for the Best Final Year Student from the university’s partner colleges. The Pope award goes alongside his prize for Best Final Year University Media School student.

David is now working as an account executive for Jaguar at the international marketing agency Spark 44. He completed his Foundation Degree at Bournemouth & Poole College in 2012 before undertaking an industrial placement with Audi, where he won an advertising award, and then returning to Bournemouth for his final university year.

Said The Bournemouth & Poole College Communications in Media Tutor Bradley Lansdale:

“We are proud of David’s achievements. He proved that hard work and dedication will be recognised and we wish him every success as his career progresses.”

This is the second Rosemary Pope award in three years for the Marketing Foundation Degree programme which has an excellent record for student achievement.

Rosemary Pope was a Professor of Education at Bournemouth University. She had a professional background in nursing and became a key member of the strategic team at Bournemouth University leading the academic development of education at the university, which meant investing in new academic areas, as well as extensive staff restructuring. She died in 2008 and the award was created in her memory.
