Bournemouth & Poole College has purchased laptops and WiFi routers to allow students experiencing digital barriers to complete their studies.
A significant proportion of the UK population face digital barriers because they lack digital equipment or digital skills and/or internet access. Without having a laptop or access to the internet at home, completing coursework or doing necessary research is much harder.
The College is committed to ensuring every student has equal access to education so they can progress to their chosen career. Using Bursary money, the College has purchased over 115 laptops and 30 WiFi routers for students to take home and use for their college studies.

We understand the impact that digital barriers can have on our students and their studies, and we want to do what we can to support all our students. The purchase of these laptops and WiFi routers will allow our students to get the most out of their college experience and achieve the very best that they can.”
