Semester Abroad

Short Course Study alongside UK Students

The Semester Abroad programme has been developed to provide International students with a short full-time vocational or academic course. 

This could be used as accredited prior learning towards your studies in your home country.

Venue: Lansdowne, Bournemouth or North Road, Poole – depending on the programme chosen

Duration: Full-time, one term, one and a half terms or two terms

Start date: September or January

Course level: NQF Level 3 or NQF Level 4


This programme provides individuals with the opportunity to study on a short full-time basis at one of the UK’s largest colleges, alongside UK students, on a range of programmes.

All students will have the support of a personal tutor to guide them through their studies at The College and help with necessary paperwork to validate their reports.

Entry requirements

The English Language entry level would be IELTS 5.5 or equivalent with no less than IELTS 5.0 in writing.

Students will need to be 16 years plus for entry to NQF Level 3 programmes and 18 years plus for entry to NQF Level 4 programmes.

Course content and structure

Students will be required to choose one programme from our wide range of academic, vocational or foundation degree programmes depending on their current level of study in their home country and English Language level.
