Meet the Team! Our criminology lecturers have industry knowledge and experience which will help you get the career you want.
In 2012 he completed his First-Class Honors Degree in Education and Training (PCET) at University of Southampton, where his research focus was on the Impact of Police Culture on the Recruitment, Training and Development of Student Police Officers. He has been an Associate Lecturer for both Canterbury Christ Church University and the College of Policing in their respective initial teacher training programmes (PTTLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, AET and CET). He has since lectured in Criminology and Applied Criminology at Bournemouth and Poole College and University of Winchester at Level 3, Foundation Degree, Undergraduate and Masters levels. Christian has taught modules within these programmes which have included an introduction to Policing, Comparative Criminal Justice Systems, Investigative Leadership and Management in Policing and Challenging the Human Trafficking Narrative.
Amanda has been involved with academic research for some time, achieving a journal publication on child abuse in sports, which she co-authored with a professor from Bournemouth University. She also worked within a multidisciplinary team of sports and psychology students to develop podcasts for year 1 undergraduates on behaviour management using psychological processes for the sports and psychology classes.
In 2017, she was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with Bournemouth University, specialising in Forensic and Educational psychology. During this time, she worked with the BCHA to offer evaluations on the homeless community within Bournemouth in relation to accommodation and facilities offered, for her research project.
She then furthered her education and completed a Master’s of Science in Investigative Forensic Psychology in 2018 at the same university, working alongside Professors in the field to devise a research project around lie detection.
Most recently she has been teaching A-Level and Access students at a Southampton college, developing their academic skills for University along with specialising in research methods for psychology as a whole.
