What courses can I do after this?
On successful completion of an Apprenticeship in Marine Engineering (Level 2). You could progress in your chosen career onto an Advanced Apprenticeship in Marine Engineering (Level 3).
What do I need to apply
To do this course you should have...
Candidates for the apprenticeship will require GCSE's in English, maths and a Science based subject at grades C.
All applicants for apprenticeship training will be required to attend an assessment and interview.
International entry requirements
If English is not your first language, you will need an IELTS (Academic) 5.5 or equivalent that is approved by the Home Office which is available at www.gov.uk

Course content
Course Content
To gain the Apprenticeship in Marine Engineering you will work towards the following qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2, Diploma in Marine Engineering
- City & Guilds Level 2 in Marine Construction, Systems Engineering and Maintenance
(Both of the above qualifications will be based upon units from the Marine Engines and Propulsion Systems pathway)
Functional Skills in;
- Maths Level 1
- English Level 1
- ICT Level 1
- Employment Responsibilities and Rights (a workbook to help you understand your rights and responsibilities as an employee and those of your employer)
