More about the course

An apprentice must pass an end point assessment with an independent end point assessment organisation before they can be counted as a fully qualified child care practitioner. The end point assessment (EPA) for the level 2 childcare apprenticeship standard includes a knowledge test and an interview based on a portfolio of evidence. Before the EPA can take place the apprentice must successfully go through the Gateway process, this process requires the apprentice to have completed the L2 Early Years Practioner Diploma and Maths and English qualifications. The employer, learner and provider are required to sign a declaration that confirms the apprentice is ready for EPA. The EPA process ensure the apprentice has the appropriate knowledge, skills and behaviours to be an effective and highly trained early years practitioner.
