Successful completion of this course will help you to progress to employment or an intemediate apprenticeship. It is not possible to become fully qualified unless you gain employment in the industry and are assessed on site.

What do I need to apply
To do this course you should have...
You will need to achieve GCSEs grades D-G including English and maths grades 3-1 (formerly D-G). Alternatively successful completion of a Foundation Entry Level 3 qualification and have achieved an Entry Level 3 Functional Skill in English and maths.

The course consists of continuous assessment throughout the year in both practical and theory and also includes:
- Marking and setting out
- Produce wood working joints
- Produce carpentry products
- Employability skills (interview techniques, CV writing, employer workshops, Maths and English)

You will be taught using a variety of workshop activities, lectures, group activities, self-study, employer visits and directed study. You will also be able to take part in activities organised by our Student Services department, these include: Football, Surfing, Netball, rubgy and many more. The facilities in Construction are purpose built and all practical jobs are designed to make the candidate job ready!
