This is a full-time course based at our purpose built facility The Fulcrum Centre which is a five minute walk from Tower Park leisure complex.

This course is a progression from L1 certificate, it extends learners knowledge of different elements related to the carpentry & joinery industry and provides the skills that any aspiring tradesman requires. It allows the candidate to progress at their own pace and is designed for all ages, those wishing to pursue a career or an apprenticeship in carpentry.

Depending on GCSE grades on entry - the study programme will include GCSE or Functional Skills in Maths and English.

What the course leads to

What courses can I do after this? 

Successful completion of this course will help you to progress to employment or an intemediate apprenticeship. It is not possible to become fully qualified unless you gain employment in the industry and are assessed on site.

What do I need to apply

To do this course you should have... 

You will need to achieve GCSEs grades D-G including English and maths grades 3-1 (formerly D-G). Alternatively successful completion of a Foundation Entry Level 3 qualification and have achieved an Entry Level 3 Functional Skill in English and maths.
