Access to Higher Education

"When I was forced stop working in full-time employment because of a health issue, I felt very depressed and struggled to see a way forward. However, the College has really helped to turn my life around.

Photography has always been a personal passion of mine. When I decided I wanted to pursue it as a career, I looked into what I needed to do to be accepted into university. The College’s Access to Higher Education - Media course, with its great location and reputation, sounded perfect for me.

Studying at the College has been a phenomenal experience. The course has given me such a boost and I can’t wait to study photography at university.

My tutor also teaches at the Arts University Bournemouth on the same course. She encouraged me, worked with me to thoroughly prepare for my interview and ultimately played a big part in helping me get the offer to study there.

Studying at the College feels so energising and refreshing. There is so much to learn on the course about photography, but also film studies, graphic design and film production. I particularly enjoyed a photography project where I tried to capture a picture of myself and my health, and I can’t wait to develop this theme further at university."
