Level 3 Hairdressing

Adult learner in Flaunt hair salon at Bournemouth and Poole College"I had already studied the Level 3 hairdressing qualification a while ago at a different college, but had to leave the course before I could complete it. I’d really like to pursue a career in hairdressing so I decided to enrol at The College to complete it.

I was really dreading coming back to college, but can honestly say I love it. I’ve fitted in well and even though it’s a full-time course, it’s only three days a week so I am able to fit it around other commitments.

The course has changed a lot since I last studied it and most of the exams are now completed online. You learn a lot including hair cutting through to perming and colour. It’s great to know that I now have the skills to be able to fix someone’s hair colour if it’s gone wrong.

“I am able to fit studying around my other commitments.”

The whole experience of applying through to enrolling was really straight forward. I was living up North when I applied and The College helped to sort everything out for me. It was a real help to know that I had the support from them.

If you’re thinking about going back to college, just do it. No one is patronising, you’re treated like an adult and you can fit it around your everyday life. It really is a great experience."
