Jacqueline Gower, Health and Social Care

Health and Social Care student at Bournemouth & Poole CollegeI work for Care South as a Care Team Leader at one of their nursing and residential care homes near Taunton, Somerset. After working in the Care industry for 25 years, I really liked the idea of gaining a well recognised qualification to go alongside my experience. I felt the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services course would be a rewarding experience both for my own satisfaction and for my professional development.

"I have really enjoyed the course and attending college. It definitely helped to meet the tutors face-to-face and other students who were at various stages of the course."

At each session the tutors would talk through the forthcoming assignment and the contact with other students really helped with the learning process.

The tutors were extremely supportive throughout the course, and even managed to help me when I was diagnosed with cancer right in the middle of the course. Even though I was offered the option of putting the course on hold until I was better, I wanted to continue to carry on as much as I could. The tutors continued to send my assignments so I was able to keep up with the course and they didn't pressure me at all.

I have no hesitation in recommending Bournemouth & Poole College to prospective candidates in the care profession, who maybe considering studying for the Level 5 in Health and Social Care.
