What is it all about?

The Bournemouth and Poole College STEM Centre is a focal point to enhance and enrich the student experience of STEM subjects and to help them become aware of the wealth of opportunities in STEM related careers.

The Centre has been developed in partnership with NEF (New Engineering Foundation) and industry representatives to provide high quality education and training and to facilitate events and activities.

The STEM Centre accommodates a host of renewable technologies including Photovoltaic Installation, Solar Heating, Heat Pumps, Water Harvesting and Wind Power which will support sustainability in the region and beyond.

Students will also have the opportunity to study emerging technology fields such as Biological Sciences with access to cutting edge laboratories and control manufacturing supported by CNC facilities.

An innovative approach to maths education will prepare students for the world of work. Employers will provide work placement opportunities and ensure our courses are aligned to current workplace practices both of which will provide our students with the competitive edge. With this approach we aim to provide a workforce well equipped to meet the needs of business and local economy.
