Through the Enterprise Academy you can study for a  BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship.

Level 3 is about developing functional business skills, to equip you for the real world. The following topics are studied:**

  • Social Enterprise

** A total of 12 units – 8 mandatory and 4 are optional

Bournemouth & Poole College Business and Enterprise studentsBy the end of Term 1 you will have developed a range of practical skills and built a portfolio of contacts.  You will have participated in a variety of Apprentice style challenges and helped to organise and run the College’s ‘Global Entrepreneur Week’ event.

By the end of term 2 you will have finalised your business idea, written your own comprehensive business plan and pitched your proposal to a panel of experts in a ‘Dragons Den’ event.

By the end of Term 3 you will have run your micro business and completed a four week work placement and are ready to take the next step into being a full or part time entrepreneur, a highly valuable employee or continue with your studies.

To get in... and get on you’ll need:

A minimum of four GCSE’s grades A*–C, including English and maths at grades 9-4 (formerly A*-C), OR a Level 2 qualification at Merit or above with GCSE English and maths at grades 9-4 (formerly A*-C).

A willingness to work hard, show desire, commitment and push yourself to succeed

Past graduates havegone on to:

  • Continue to run and expand their business
  • Put their skills and knowledge into practice in an established company
