Learning Support
Study Advice Centres
The Learning Support department is based in the Study Advice Centres at North Road (Poole) and Lansdowne (Bournemouth). We offer support to ALL students at the college to help with a wide range of learning needs. These include:
- English/Literacy
- Maths/Numeracy
- IT Skills
- Study Skills
- Assignment Planning
- Time Management
- Revision and Exam Techniques.
Additional Learning Needs
As well as this we also offer specialist support for the following additional learning needs:
- Dyslexia
- Dyspraxia
- Asperger’s Syndrome
- Other Specific Learning Difficulties
- Visual or hearing impairment
- Medical Conditions
- Physical disability
- Mental Health difficulties.
What we can offer
The services provided by Learning Support will be tailored to suit each individual’s needs. We can offer:
- 1-1 support with a Learning Support Tutor
- Learning Support Assistant in class
- Communicators and note-takers
- Adapted materials e.g. large print, voice recordings
- Support for a medical condition
- Special Exam Arrangements
- Assistive technology loans
- Specialist software
- Support for mental health difficulties
- Mobility support
- Access to personal care
- Arrange additional tutorials with course tutors.
