How to Apply

We are a very popular college and many of our courses are quickly filled.

You should NOT wait until you have taken your exams or are finishing school to apply, as this may be too late and you could be disappointed. If you do better than expected with your GCSEs then we can discuss a different level course with you when you come to enrol. The same applies if your results are not as good as predicted.

We will work hard to support you as you gain your qualifications and will help you leave college as a mature, confident young person with a great future ahead of you.

When

We advise that you apply for a college course up to 12 months before the course commences (e.g. September 2011 for September 2012 entry). You can apply at any time during the year. The majority of full time courses start at the beginning of the academic year each September (but there are other courses that start at other times, including Apprenticeships and Step into College).

You can submit your application form by post or by dropping into The College’s main reception desks at North Road, Poole or the Lansdowne, Bournemouth.

Making an enquiry

You can contact The College at any time to request a prospectus, ask for specific course details, make an application or receive advice and guidance.

When you make an enquiry, we will take some details from you (such as date of birth and contact information). We may also ask what area or subjects are of particular interest to you (if you know) and then we can keep you updated with any exciting news or developments.

Your application

As soon as we receive your completed application form, our admissions team will check it and will acknowledge receipt of it within 7 working days.

We will then invite you to attend an interview/audition within the next 2 - 4 weeks.

We will inform you as to the venue, date and time of your interview/audition and what you should bring with you (e.g. some courses require you to bring a current portfolio of your work).

The interview is a two-way process. A chance for us to get to know you and assess your suitability for the course and an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.

At this stage, if you meet the entry criteria we will offer you a place. Your offer may be dependent upon your examination grades if you have not yet obtained them.

During August (just prior to the start of your course) we will send you an enrolment pack. This will give you details of when to come into college to enrol and what to bring with you.
