The Gatsby Benchmarks is a framework for improvement in careers provision. The benchmarks have been recognised by the Government’s Careers Strategy and form part of their statutory guidance for colleges. The Bournemouth & Poole College is proud to be meeting 100% achievement in all eight Gatsby Benchmarks.

With the continued relaxation of social distancing rules after the COVID-19 pandemic, our BTEC Events & Hospitality students are getting back into the Restaurant and holding events.

The students were delighted to leave the virtual planning behind and get back to doing what they do best – hosting successful events to complete their assessments. The latest of these was their Charity Theme Events. Following the much-publicised decline of the nation’s mental health over the past 18 months, they decided that they would raise funds for local charity Dorset Mind.

The Bournemouth and Poole College’s leading catering department has been listed as a finalist for the FE Week AAC Apprenticeship Award for ‘Catering and Hospitality Apprenticeship Provider of the Year’. Being named as a finalist for the award in a year where the industry has faced so much disruption is an achievement in itself, and cements The College’s reputation as an industry leader.
