Events & Hospitality Students Celebrate Successful Charity Event

With the continued relaxation of social distancing rules after the COVID-19 pandemic, our BTEC Events & Hospitality students are getting back into the Restaurant and holding events.

The students were delighted to leave the virtual planning behind and get back to doing what they do best – hosting successful events to complete their assessments. The latest of these was their Charity Theme Events. Following the much-publicised decline of the nation’s mental health over the past 18 months, they decided that they would raise funds for local charity Dorset Mind.

Two themed events took place, one Mexican and one Italian. Attendees thoroughly enjoyed the events, and many bought raffle tickets to try and win prizes donated by local companies. The events raised a fantastic total of £111.40. Course tutor, Sarah Gault said, “This is a huge achievement for a return to ‘real life’ events for our students, and the charity was thrilled to receive the donation.”
