College's CGI design student attracts attention of US TV producers

Josh Turners CGI work

Ambitious computer graphics course student Josh Turner has cause for a double celebration.

Not only is he about to start a year’s work experience with a leading concept design company, but some of his work is about to be shown on American TV.

As part of his CGI architectural visualisation course at The Bournemouth & Poole College, Josh created computer model images of the Milwaukee Art Museum, an eye catching and iconic structure which includes a stunning brise soleil with a wing span of more than 200ft.

After spotting Josh’s graphics work online, a Los Angeles-based TV production company e-mailed Josh, who has his own website, to ask if they could use some of his sequence in the opening credits for a Milwaukee TV morning programme.

Said Josh: “They have now told me the images are being used this Autumn as part of the opening credits to The Real Milwaukee TV morning show.”

For Josh, who is about to start a work placement with Winchester-based company Darcstudios, which specialises in CGI design for architecture, marketing and brands, it means he is already building a reputation is a very competitive design sector.

He said: “Life is pretty chaotic but exciting at the moment, as I arrange my move from Bournemouth to Winchester, but this Milwaukee Arts Museum project gave me a real buzz and how good will that look on my CV?”
