Walk to Support Raises Money for Local Charities
Walk to Support is an annual event organised by the 2nd year Tourism and Events students at Bournemouth and Poole College. This year’s sponsored walks took place in two locations, one around Poole Park and the other along the promenade and back at Bournemouth sea front.
Students came out in force to raise money for 2 local charities, which this year included the Youth Cancer Trust Holidays and the Victoria Education Centre, as well as helping to raise money for the Bournemouth and Poole College foundation. £200 was raised for these fantastic organisations.
Youth Cancer Trust holidays organise free, fun activity based holidays for young people (aged 14 to 30) suffering with cancer or any malignant disease.
Victoria Education Centre is a residential and day school in Poole offering specialised, high quality care and therapy for young disabled people from 3 – 19 years old.
The College foundation is a charity set up to help those students who have difficulties in accessing education due to a variety of issues.
