FireBall is a roaring success
During the final term of this year Level 2 Sport Students from Bournemouth and Poole College planned and delivered a sports competition held at Meyrick Park on 24th May for 100 hundred participants.
The event was a practical element of an assignment that required them to plan and lead the competition, but also invent the game itself, which is now known as FireBall. FireBall is an invasion game that consists of 2 teams of 6 players. Passing the ball between team members, the aim is to get the ball into the oppositions scoring zone. FireBall is a cross between ultimate frisbee, basketball and netball.
The 1st annual FireBall Championship saw 8 teams battle it out through group stages before a knock out round and then a semi-final and a final.
The event was a complete success with everyone having a great day and enjoying some sport and physical activity. So much so that FireBall will now be an annual event!!
