Night Life in Bournemouth and Poole
Entertainment
The area is well served by all kinds of entertainment. You can watch the latest films, plays and shows at the cinemas and theatres and local orchestras are world-famous. The 'Bournemouth Echo' is an excellent newspaper and carries advertisements for all kinds of entertainment in the local area.
Mustard Seed Cafe
The Mustard Seed is a coffee shop opened by Christian people. It is a place to meet friends, relax and talk. People from all countries are welcome. You can meet local people and practice your English every Friday at 2000 hrs. It is very close to the College at the Lansdowne.
Pubs
The area has a large number of typically English 'pubs' i.e. public houses or inns. These places are very important for English
people and they tend to be meeting places for locals but visitors are welcome. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are served. Many provide food at reasonable prices and are certainly much cheaper than restaurants. English people like to drink beer, but order what you want.
Alcohol
You must be 18 or over to buy or consume alcoholic drinks. Do not break the law. Remember, that if you are driving a car, you must not consume alcohol - our drink/driving laws are very strict.
What Our Students Have Said…
Alisher Dadakuziev, Russia
I enjoyed my stay at The College which was very different from school. No one pushes or forces you into studying, so the responsibility and hard work is your own self-motivation, but the teachers are always there and are very helpful.
The support I received helped me adapt very quickly to life in the UK. I've developed time management and study skills and really improved my English Language.
It has been an excellent preparation to university and a great way to make new friends from around the world.
