Introduction:
This course can be studied full-time over 2 years or part-time over 3 years. It has been designed to meet the changing needs of the computing industry by providing students with the skills and knowledge to progress straight into employment upon completion. The course contains strong elements of both theory and practice so that students not only understand the principles behind computing, but also have the ability to put them into practice. A wide range of computing topics will be studied, including internet development, programming, software project management, databases and multimedia. There is also an opportunity to take CISCO units (IT Essentials 1 & 2 and CCNA1) alongside the Foundation Degree.
Entry Requirements:
You should have:
- 4 GCSEs at grade C minimum to include English and mathematics or an equivalent qualification
- At least ONE A level at grade C or above, or
- BTEC National Diploma, NVQ3, or equivalent
- An Access to Higher Education Diploma
(80 tariff points from one 6 unit award)*
*Revalidation planned for 2011 - anticipated entry requirement 120 Tariff points from two full A-levels) for 2011-2012

Course Progression:
The critical skills that you will develop on this course will leave you well placed to seek employment in a wide variety of computing positions when you graduate.
