Introduction:
This course is suitable for anyone considering returning to education, who perhaps want a career in Social Work or Nursing/Health Care. It has been designed to ease the process of returning to education after a long break.
Entry Requirements:
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. If you are a mature student who has had a break from studies and you are looking for a return to education, our courses provide an excellent preparation for Higher Education, and a step towards your dreams of university.
Course Details:
You will be taught study skills, information technology, have sessions on vocational guidance and taster sessions on some of the main subjects on the Access course.
Course Assessment:
Assessment will be through assignments and a portfolio of evidence.
Course Progression:
On successful completion of this course you could progress onto the Access to HE (Social Work and Nursing) one year course commencing in September each year or if you prefer you can take an alternative College course. There are short courses available for example in IT, Researching or Counselling, that you can attend after the Pre-Access course, in preparation for the Access course, or you could do some voluntary work.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time course for one term only, usually one day per week.
