Introduction:
The interactive entertainment industry is growing and evolving rapidly. This FdSc in Games Design Programming aims to equip students with a strong programming background that is focused on the complexities and sophistication of modern games design programming. In addition, students are introduced to 3D modelling and will also be taught how to animate models using their own code. Students are encouraged to use a variety of game development tools and environments, and ultimately will design and produce their own 2D and 3D games.
Entry Requirements:
- 4 GCSEs at Grade C minimum, to include Maths and English, or an equivalent qualification
- At least ONE A level at Grade C or above, or
- BTEC National Diploma, NVQ3, or equivalent, or
- An Access to Higher Education Diploma
(Indicative Tariff points 120 from non-relevant subjects from two 6 unit awards or 80 from relevant subjects from one 6 unit award) Preferred subjects: due to the high percentage of programming in this course, students will need a programming or mathematical background.

Course Progression:
Job prospects within the interactive entertainment industry are reasonably good and the generic skills acquired on the course will open up other career paths. Alternatively, students may progress to a top-up degree, so taking their learning to Honours level.
