Introduction:

The University of Winchester has a well-established reputation in Humanities, Social Sciences, Performing Arts, Business, and Primary Education. The Diploma in Higher Education (DipHE) is taught by specialist lecturers from the Bournemouth and Poole College and the University of Winchester. Students benefit from small-grouped seminars, in which a supportive atmosphere is encouraged. This is an ideal course for mature students returning to study.

The DipHE English course incorporates the study of both classical and modern texts and promotes the debate and consideration of the societies behind their creation. The course seeks to enhance students' awareness of a wider range of language uses. This study will inspire students and focuses on developing their skills as flexible, able communicators, both in the written and spoken word.

The DipHE pathway covers the first two years of the single honours degree. Subject to satisfactory progress, students can graduate from the DipHE at the end of the second year and apply to the University of Winchester for the third and final year of the degree course.
