Further Study

This section directs you to key sources of help if you are thinking of continuing from your current higher education course onto further study.

Are you a student on a Foundation Degree or HND?

If you successfully finish your course, you might be able to complete an Honours degree in your subject through a one-year Top-up degree course, either specifically designed for students from your course or from similar courses. You could also consider applying for entry into the final year of a degree course in a similar subject.

For most courses you will need to apply through UCAS (the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service).

Are you a student on an Honours Degree?

If you are predicted to achieve a good class of degree, you could consider continuing onto postgraduate higher degree courses and research. Alternatively, you could look at courses offering more specialised vocational training and/or professional qualifications.

Are you a part-time student or unable or unwilling to continue studying full-time?

You could consider the possibility of a part-time course, or the more flexible option of a distance learning degree with the Open University. Check how many credits and study exemption you could be entitled to.

Alternatively, you could consider taking vocational qualifications part-time, perhaps in conjunction with employment.
