The Board operate the Policy Governance model which was introduced for 2010-201. The Board has 13 members and meets six times a year. Policy Governance© is built on ten principles which emphasise values, vision and the empowerment of the board and staff. It is built on ten principles.

*The overall primary beneficiaries of the work of Bournemouth and Poole College is intended to be all those who live and work in Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole. However, The College welcomes and seeks to provide excellent education for all students who choose to access its services.
Explanation for initial use:
Strategic Outcomes describe the reason for the organisation’s existence. What it is for, rather than what it does. A comprehensive Strategic Purpose Statement describes the Board’s expectations in terms of intended outcomes, the intended recipients of the outcomes and the cost benefit or priority of the outcomes. All lower level policies must directly derive from the first, broadest policy.
