The College has been training florists for many years and is well respected within the industry. We provide learners of all ages and all standards with the opportunity to develop their craftsmanship and skills and to gain relevant and accepted vocational qualifications at every level. The professional qualifications available cover many aspects, ranging from contemporary flower arranging to international design.
Age is no barrier to the development of aesthetic and professional skills in floristry. We provide opportunities for all, from school pupils at Key Stage 4, to those already in employment seeking to update and enhance their skills and qualification.
This is also an area that is popular with adults looking for recreational or hobby interests and seeking ways to develop their personal creativity and artistic skills. Whatever level you choose, our programmes develop practical skills to a high level.
Our floristry unit operates a commercial floristry service and frequently exhibits nationally - notably at the Chelsea Flower Show where The College attends by invitation. We also actively encourage students to participate in local and national competitions and events. Our floristry unit has won the accolade of 'Centre of Excellence' for training, from City & Guilds.
To support your study we also organise visits and trips, such as to Hampton Court and Wisley. In addition, demonstrations from suppliers and specialist practitioners are regularly used to enhance your study and widen your appreciation of technical and aesthetic developments in the industry.
