Specialist Facilities - Health & Social Care

Full-Time Courses

All our full-time courses benefit from Work Placements. Our work placement officer will assist you and secure placements for you. Students gain experience in working in a variety of work settings putting into practice all they have learnt in the classroom. They also bring back to the classroom experiences from their placement practice.

All Courses

Have use of specialist training equipment relevant to the course. Specialist nursing/care equipment, baby and child care equipment etc.

Level 3 Programmes

We give students access to the College VLE (virtual learning environment). Invaluable knowledge can be gained through the information stored on the VLE. Lecturers can keep students informed of projects and assignments and provide additional back-up to the class contact time.

For students without access to a computer at home there are computer suites at college for students to use free of charge. The site can also be accessed from your local library, internet cafe etc.

The College Community Counselling Service

This service provides valuable experience for Diploma students on Counselling courses – they are able to put into practice theory learnt in the classroom.

A free Counselling service is also available to private individuals who need it.

The service survives on donations received from individuals using it.

Our Lecturers

All academic staff are vocationally qualified in nursing, midwifery, nursery educational specialists, social work etc. Many are current practitioners and/or keep up-to-date with current practice and therefore bring a focussed and real experience to the classroom.
