New Deal

We work in close partnership with Jobcentre Plus to provide help and opportunity to unemployed adults looking to get back into paid work.If you are currently without a job and are seeking work we may be able to improve your prospects at the Bournemouth and Poole College.

We work in close partnership with Jobcentre Plus to provide help and opportunity to unemployed adults looking to get back into paid work. A wide range of courses are on offer including developing basic skills if required or skills/vocational training in many areas of work. These courses are within the New Deal and Work Based Learning for Adults programmes, which can be tailored to meet your needs. This could include studying full-time towards a work-related qualification, or you might prefer a more practical work based programme with only part of your time spent at The College. Many courses will be a mixture of both training and work experience.

The main aim is to find employment for you and we’ll give you all the help you need through our job search training, which is an integral part of all courses. We will also give guidance and support to ensure that you get the most from your programme.

Training is FREE and if you receive benefits these will continue whilst you are on the programme. You may even receive an additional training allowance and have help towards your travel costs during your training. There are no formal entry requirements, but you will need to show a strong commitment to gaining employment.

You can check your eligibility for these courses under the New Deal and Work Based Learning for Adults programmes with your Personal Advisor at the Jobcentre who will also be able to give you further information.
