Distance learning is beneficial both to the employer and to the learner, meaning that topics can be studied without the need to attend college for predetermined and scheduled classes. All that is required is a computer and desk space where the learner can focus and concentrate in an environment where they feel most relaxed to study. Don’t worry if you don’t have access to a computer or IT Skills - as you can submit your course work as written documents in the post! You can study either at work or at home (subject to individual arrangements made between the employer and the employee).
Distance Learning programmes do not generally have a specific time duration, but usually take between 12 – 16 weeks to complete. There may be times when completion is required by a specific date to meet exam board dates etc. and we would advise you on this.
We are currently able to offer distance learning packages to employers where there are 6 or more candidates enrolling. Smaller groups may be accommodated by prior arrangement
Distance learning packages are particularly advantageous in the work setting where several candidates need to study, and flexibility is required. A distance learning co-ordinator will help with the enrolment process, and will also provide initial impartial advice and guidance to all candidates being enrolled. From there, tutorial support is provided for the duration of the course. Our distance learning tutors have high levels of relevant expertise and vocational experience in their specialist subjects. Tutors will usually arrange to visit students at pre-arranged times on the employers premises and will agree an achievable study schedule with the student. Tutorial support is a combination of visits, on-line correspondence and telephone contact.
