Apprenticeships

There are currently around 240,000 apprentices in the UK. The government is pledging to increase this number by a further 90,000 by 2013.

Apprenticeships are currently enjoying somewhat of a renaissance, as both employers and young people recognise the many benefits that apprenticeships can offer.

For a trainee it is the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills with employment and on-the-job experience combined with day release or block release training at The College.

For the employer it is the investment in the future ‘skillsbank’ of their staff, a chance to embed young people into the specific ethos and culture of their business or organisation, giving trainees relevant skills and work-based knowledge bespoke to your sector.

College Apprenticeship Training provides both the learner and the employer full support, from interview and assessment, recruitment, right through to ongoing training and the gaining of relevant qualifications and technical certificates.

The Bournemouth and Poole College can provide apprenticeships in a wide range of vocational and sector skills areas. Please ask for details.

Our Apprenticeship Task Force can help with any questions relating to taking on an apprentice, and once you sign up to take a trainee, we will provide ongoing support and management of the training programme throughout the duration of the apprenticeship contract.
