Dorset Construction Curriculum Centre (DCCC)

Aiming to improve levels of knowledge, understanding and skills, and to enable informed career choices, we organise events, and support schools in their own projects, to enhance the curriculum using the construction and built environment as a context for learning.

Delivered by experts and practitioners, we provide opportunities for pupils, teachers and career advisers to discover the potential of the construction industry through hands-on experience such as

  • site visits at local construction developments
  • construction challenge & taster days at colleges
  • full or half day workshops at schools
  • Continuing Professional Development placements.

Group of Construction StudentsConstruction is everywhere...

It's the house you wake up in, the roads you drive to work on, your school, your playing fields, your light, heat, your world.

Without construction there would be no cinemas, no cafes, no life as we know it. From architects and engineers, to bricklayers and carpenters the opportunities to work in the industry are endless.

Would your pupils consider a trade or professional & management career in the construction industry?

If you are looking for projects which will assist your pupils to make career choices, advice on career opportunities or new materials to deliver parts of your curriculum, we may have just what you are looking for. Click here to contact the DCCC.
