Dorset Construction Curriculum Centre (DCCC)

Construction is everywhere... it's the house you wake up in, the roads you drive on, your school, your playing fields, your light, heat, your world.  Without construction there would be no cinemas, no cafes, no life as we know it. From architects and engineers, to bricklayers and carpenters the opportunities to work in the industry are endless.

Would your pupils consider a trade or professional career in construction? Do they want to find out if the Construction & the Built Environment Diploma is for them?

To enable informed career choices, we organise work-related learning events that improve levels of knowledge, understanding and skills of the industry.  We support schools in their own projects to enhance the curriculum using the construction industry as a context for learning. Group of Construction Students

Delivered by experts and practitioners, we provide opportunities for pupils, teachers and career advisors to discover the potential of the construction industry through hands-on experience such as

  • site visits at local construction developments
  • construction challenge & taster days at colleges
  • full or half day workshops at schools
  • Continuing Professional Development.

If you are looking for projects which will assist your pupils to make career choices, advice on career opportunities or new materials to deliver parts of your curriculum, we may have just what you are looking for. Click here to contact the DCCC.
