Introduction: 

This course is for those who wish to undertake Patisserie/Bakery and Confectionery skills as a hobby or wish to widen their knowledge. It is also suitable for Catering Students who wish to enhance their vocational skills and leads to Advanced Patisserie.

Details: 

The foundation programme deals with the Introduction of Patisserie/Bakery and Confectionery Skills.

It will give you an understanding of the commodities you will be using and will develop your specialist skills, giving you practical experience in handling the correct tools and equipment that are required throughout the Patisserie Department within this specialist area. You will also undertake the introduction of Sugar and Chocolate skills.

Entry Requirements: 

No prior experience of Patisserie/Bakery or Confectionery work is needed as your skills will develop over the period of the course. All we ask is that you are committed to this kind of work as this is a skilled area.

Assessment: 

Your practical work will be assessed throughout the course.  Assessment will take place at the end of the eight weeks.

Progression: 

On successful completion of this course you may be eligible to progress on to the intermediate certificate in Patisserie/Bakery & Confectionery.
