Level 2 Diploma Carpentry and Joinery (Part Time)
Hours of attendance and start date will be confirmed at interview or enrolment. Day Release and Evening 36 weeks Start date: 19/09/11
This course is anyone wishing to pursue a career in Carpentry and Joinery. You do not have to be employed in the industry.
The course will cover the following:
- Setting out operations
- Measurements & preparation
- Cutting joints
- Assembling and installing a range of products
- Finishing
- Power tool training & assessment
- Operational activities
- Structures
- Accessing equipment
You should have attained the Level 1 Foundation Award in Wood Trades.
You should have attained NVQ 1 Wood Occupations.
Assessment is progressive and is based on proving competence in a range of practical and theoretical tasks.
On successful completion of these assessments you can progress onto NVQ Level 3 or Diploma Level 3 in Wood Occupations.

This is an advanced level qualification where candidates will be expected to produce a number of written assignments and complete a synoptic and theory assessment.
