The Course

In brief ...

This course is designed for those learners aged 19 years and over with ambitions for a career in the beauty therapy industry. It covers all the basic beauty therapy treatments and will provide you with a good base from which you could progress to further courses.

During your course you will develop practical expertise and an essential knowledge of the industry.

Practical Skills & Treatments: please be aware that as part of your practical lessons students learn the treatments on each other. further development is then performed on paying clients which is part of the assessment process.

No formal entry qualifications are required, however your suitability for the qualification will be dependant upon a successful interview.

What about work experience?

You will be assessed on assignment through assignments and will take on-line theory examinations and final practical examination.s you will also undertake 30 hours work experience throughout the year and should be physically fit. 

International entry requirements

If English is not your first language, you will need an IELTS (Academic) 5.5 or equivalent that is approved by the Home Office which is available at www.gov.uk

Course content

You will develop a range of practical beauty therapy skills, plus underpinning knowledge.

Your practical skills will initially be developed by working with fellow students and subsequently by working with a variety of models and clients.

Content will include:

  • Applied Theory of treatments
  • Health & Safety in the workplace
  • Hygiene practices
  • Promoting products & services to clients
  • Facials, including slin care & facial skin care for men
  • Remove hair using waxing techniques
  • Provide manicure treatments

  • Provide eyelash & eyebrow treatments
  • Perform head massage
