L3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement
Various start dates are available and you will be required to attend regular one-to-one sessions with your tutor.
The Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement is for practitioners who assess knowledge and/or skills in vocationally related subject areas and who use the following assessment methods: assessments in simulated environments, skills tests, oral and written questions, assignments, projects, case studies and RPL. This may take place in training workshops, classrooms or other learning environments.
The Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement consists of one theory unit which assesses a candidate's knowledge of the principles and practices of assessment and one practical unit which assesses a candidate assessors' competence in assessing a learner's vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in contexts other than a work environment. These assessments will be observed.
You will need to have a professional qualification and/or have demonstrated occupational competence acceptable to your internal quality assurer. You need to be part of an assessment team, have access to a minimum of two learners who are undertaking a vocational programme in your area of expertise. You need to attend standardisation meetings and generally comply with both internal and external quality assurance procedures.
There will be ongoing assessment during the course and you will complete a portfolio.
After successful completion of the Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement, once you have assessed for an appropriate length of time, you may wish to progress to an internal quality assurance qualification.
