This qualification helps the individual relate theory to practical situations in the workplace analysing their own leadership abilities, action planning for personal improvement.
It also requires the student to identify and research a workplace problem, putting problem solving and decision making techniques into action to find the best possible solution and have a plan of action for implementation.
Many businesses have to react and change quickly in the current trading climate; this programme gives the student the skills and understanding to manage change and its effects successfully.
The course is delivered over 10 x 4 hour sessions, which includes individual tutorial time.
The programme covers the following units:
Introduction to leadership
Problem solving
Understanding change in the organisation
Candidates will have studying membership of the ILM for 6 months
No formal qualifications are necessary to join the course.
Each unit is assessed by written assignment the Problem Solving unit requires 2000 – 2500 words. Both the Introduction to Leadership and the Understanding Change units have a 1500 – 2000 word count.
Candidates who successfully complete the ILM Level 3 Award in First Line Management may progress on to the Certificate or develop their career through other Management qualifications.
