Glass Blowing

Enrol now! for this great new courseEnrol now for the Hot Glass Blowing Course!

Skills training is about to move into a new dimension with an innovative new course at The College.

The new one-year glass blowing course has been designed by master craftsman Rob Marshall who hopes to help save this traditional skill from disappearing. Rob says, "There are fewer than 100 glass blowers operating in the UK. I was privileged to learn from master glassmaker Ronnie Wilkinson at the Glasshouse, Convent Garden, the UK's longest established glass studio.

Rob feels passionately that traditional skills are at risk of being lost forever unless colleges are able to train a new generation of specialist glass craftsmen.

The BTEC Level 3 course in Design Crafts (Hot Glass Techniques) is likely to attract students from across the UK and overseas students. Aimed at all ages, applicants will need to be able to be able to show a creative portfolio and demonstrate they are committed to developing these specialist skills.
