Tourism is an important commercial activity locally, regionally, nationally, and throughout the world. The range of external factors that influence tourism businesses and organisations makes this an exciting industry. This course has been developed in partnership with employers in the tourism sector. The College is a market leader in the area of Tourism / Tourism Management training. Students learn to develop analytical and evaluative skills; are encouraged to demonstrate innovative approaches to the business; and acquire effective communication skills. An understanding of marketing principles and practices, finance management, and other functions is gained. You will learn to create business plans using the most-up-to-date IT business software, prepare marketing plans, income and expenditure statements, and cash flow forecasts - gaining industrial experience and knowledge that is highly valued by employers.

- Subject related Level 3 Advanced Diploma may be considered
Indicative Tariff points 120 from two full A-Levels, or equivalent, and to include one full A level at 80 tariff points (i.e.grade C) in a relevant subject.
Preferred subject: All subjects considered, but Travel and Tourism subjects an advantage.
IELTS Statement - If English is not your first language, a minimum of IELTS (Academic) 6.0, or TOEFL 550 (paper based), or TOEFL 80 (internet based) is normally required. A telephone interview may also be necessary.

On gaining a merit profile on this Foundation degree, students may progress on to the BA (Hons) International Tourism Management, or the BA (Hons) International Hospitality & Tourism Management at Bournemouth University.
