This Foundation Degree aims to offer a qualification to those employed or aspiring to be employed in this sector and who wish to progress onto a managerial position either within the tourism or events industry.
Tourism and Events Management are both growth industries where employers are increasingly looking to recruit people with a relevant qualification or previous experience. This course will give you both those attributes by combining theory with its practical application. Year 2 - Level I

- Tourism Industry Environment 2
- Work Placement
- 4 GCSEs at grade C minimum, to include English and Mathematics or appropriate Key Skills Level 2
- Plus two A-Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualification e.g. BTEC National Diploma, or
- Access to Higher Education Diploma, or
- Subject related Level 3 Advanced Diploma may be considered
Indicative Tariff points 120 from two full A-Levels, or equivalent,and to include one full A level at 80 tariff points (i.e. grade C) in a relevant subject.
Preferred Subjects: Tourism or Leisure studies preferred but all subjects considered.
IELTS -If English is not your first language, a minimum of IELTS (Academic) 6.0, or TOEFL 550 (paper based), or TOEFL 80 is normally required. A telephone interview may also be necessary.

On gaining a merit profile on the Foundation Degree you could progress onto the BA (Hons) International Events Management, BA (Hons) International Tourism Management (Top-up); or BA (Hons) International Hospitality and Tourism Management (Top-up) at Bournemouth University.
