The course is ideal for those seeking a career in business, finance or the legal profession. It will equip students with the necessary skills and expertise to progress to an Honours degree, after which graduates can choose to specialise in their chosen field following further professional study.
Students will be registered at Bournemouth University, whilst the course is delivered at The Bournemouth & Poole College (Lansdowne site in Bournemouth). Assessment takes place by a range of methods, including submission of work-based assignments demonstrating how learning has been applied in the work place. This course has been carefully designed to be relevant to today's employers.
This course is also recognised by the Institute of Paralegals; alongside the FdA course students will be able to register with the Institute and undertake an LPG (Legal Professional Qualification) if they wish. A small fee is charged by the Institute. This qualification is highly vocational and will boost employability.

• 4 GCSEs at grade C minimum, to include Maths and English, or ‘Application of Number’ and ‘Communication’ Key Skills Level 2
• Plus two full A Levels (including one at grade C or above), or equivalent Level 3 qualification e.g. BTEC Diploma in Business or NVQ3 Business Administration, or
• An Access to Higher Education Diploma/ prior relevant work experience
Indicative tariff points 120 from two full A-levels or equivalent and to include one full A level at 80 tariff points (i.e. grade C) in a relevant subject.
Preferred Subjects: All subjects considered
If English is not your first language, a minimum of IELTS (Academic) 6.0, or TOEFL 550 (paper based), or TOEFL 80 (internet based) is normally required. A telephone interview may also be necessary.
Typical career roles include: paralegal, legal executive, Magistrates court clerk, banking management, insurance account handler, tax adviser and other graduate opportunities.
