If you are interested in pursuing a technical career in the computing field a sound knowledge of web technologies is essential. This course combines these skills with a number of units focusing on games development as this is a particular area of growth within the industry. In addition to providing the technical abilities required to progress to higher education or employment, the course will equip you with the transferable skills needed for a successful career.

Other specialist units may include Computer Games Platforms and Technologies and 3D Modelling and Web Animation for Interactive Media.
You will require a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grades A* - C to include English, Science , Mathematics (preferably the higher paper) and a relevant Design and Technology subject ,or BTEC First Diploma in ICT Practitioners, or Merit grade in BTEC Level 2 Diploma in IT.
If English is not your first language, a minimum IELTS (Academic) of 5.5, Cambridge FCE, TOEFL 530 (paper based),71 (internet based), 197 (computer based) or TOEIC 850 is required. Completion of High School studies with good passes is required.
You will be assessed by completing coursework, projects, assignments and external assessments.
On successful completion you could progress onto full -time higher education for a Degree / Foundation Degree / HND or seek employment in the computer industry with opportunities for further part- time study. Typical HE progression routes include: Foundation Degree 3D Computer Generated Imagery, BSc (Hons) 3D Computer Generated Imagery, Foundation Degree in Computer Games Design and BSc (Hons) Web Systems.
£5900 per year to include books, examination fees and registration fees. There may be additional costs for educational visits, uniforms, materials etc. and this cost will be advised on application.
