You will explore the creative digital world by making films using single camera techniques, creating graphic design products and producing 2-D animation productions. The course is largely practical which gives a broad range of skills and has been developed to focus on the creative media sector providing vocational related education for learners to achieve a nationally recognised level 2 qualification. It also provides opportunities for learners to develop skills, knowledge and understanding relevant to the media industries, including analysing media products and their audiences.
This course combines all aspects of media including video, radio, planning to work in various industries and digital photography. At the end of the first year, if successful, you will achieve a BTEC Level 2 Diploma and a GCSE in Photography.

You will need a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D or above one of which must be English (preferably Language). You should demonstrate an active interest in media studies.
You will be continuously assessed throughout the course by your lecturers. You will develop a portfolio of work. You will study GCSE Photography alongside this course.
Progression to the BTEC Level 3 Subsidary Diploma in Creative Media Production or to possible employment in a wide range of industries including television, radio, print and media technologies, public relations or marketing.
